It is generally taken as the first film of Vidhu Vinod Chopra but actually it is his third. A well made murder mystery, which as a good thriller, just sticks to its main plot. There are no unwanted sub plots and songs in this well acted and directed film. The murder happens in the first 20 minutes and the script takes on from there.
 
The story is about an outdoor shooting unit shooting in a Pahalgam and the murder happens within them. The tantrums of Bollywood Film Industry are also shown tastefully in the movie. All the veteran actors like Amol Palekar, Shabana Azmi, Pankaj Kapoor & Naseeruddin Shah are aptly cast and deliver the goods in a fine way. The suspense in the climax is also good which in turn makes the movie worth watching. Specially recommended for murder mystery and suspense lovers.
