MSG 2 - Its again a promotional campaign for the Dera instead of any film as such with lots of immature animations used extensively. (Not A Review - by Bobby Sing)

21 Sep, 2015 | Movie Reviews / 2015 Releases

When the so called Godman released his first film of the series, I wrote, “Its actually not a movie but a 3 hour long, tacky 'Showreel of the Dera' made for its existing and would-be followers alone.”

(The complete write-up can be read at the link below.)

Ironically the outcome remains exactly the same in this second part of the project too, which is nothing but a promotional campaign for the Dera once again……… instead of any feature film as such.
However this time the ‘one-man-team’ goes many steps further by even including ‘real life footage’ of Sant Ram Rahim Insaan’s social works and discourses in the narration with a voice-over spreading the message much clearer and wider. Plus the loads of amateurish animations incorporated in its shorter duration (in comparison to the first) also force you to call it a smaller producer’s BAAHUBALI watching all the graphically created bulls, elephants, snakes and lot more. More so, because just like the cult hit, MSG 2 also ends declaring a ‘part three’ coming next with a huge demon entering the scene in its final freeze.
In addition another shocking revelation in the film is the historical linkage established with iconic characters of EKLAVYA, MAHARANA PRATAP and Sikh's GURU HARGOBIND in its different sequences.
Besides while watching it I also thought of a question to be asked to our respected Censor Board, that at one end they have (rightly) put big restrictions on using real animals in action, fight and Bali (sacrifice) sequences of a film saving them from the unintentional cruel torture. But on the other, the same mindset doesn’t raise any objection when an actual 8-10 years old kid is thrown away in the air and visibly used in a similar Bali sequence on the screen quite strangely?
Ending on another eye-opener note, the experience of watching MSG 2 in an almost house full theater with whole families of followers cheering, clapping and screaming creating an electrifying mood exactly like a Salman Khan-Rajshri film, actually got me enlightened.
Why? - Because no matter whether these tickets were really bought or distributed among the hardcore followers as a gift, this is actually how a CULT is slowly built and generations roped in creating a false impression of spirituality or divinity by some sharp minds.
Rating : It’s again an advertisement document and not a movie which has only one positive and that’s the social noble works being done by the Dera for the poor and needy.

I want to ask you why are you spending your time , effort and money on these kind of shit and crap film . Oh, sorry this crap is not even a film it is an advertisment . I think you should watch this weeks hollywood release Everest it not a very good film but a fine and technically sound film and this kind of films should be seen and reviewed instead of MSG.

I have a complaint and request to make, my complaint is that you don\'t review enough hollywood films, you had reviewed very few hollywood films. My request is that you should atleast review those hollywood films which are nominated for acedamy awards for best picture catagory .

One more thing which I want to say is that your directors i love list is missing a very prominent and deserving name and that name is Crishtoper Nolan, his films are very close to be called as master piece, yes I know that his films contain alot of special effect but than also his films have some noble and unique things to offer. I want to request you that please write the movie review for Crishtoper Nolan\'s Inception this film needs a write up by you.

I think that now a days it seems that Bobby sir you are quite busy, thats why you are not replying to any comment , this time please take some time off and please please reply me and other friends who are writing their views and waiting for your reply, atleast you should acknowledge and confirm that you had read our comments .

Waiting for your reply with every heart beat and every clock\'s tik tik.....

Hi Shubham,
Here are your answers for the questions asked :

A. I want to ask you why are you spending your time , effort and money on these kind of shit and crap film?

No film is crap till you see it.
In fact by that  wrong definition all the smaller and not so publicized movies will get sidelined right away without even reaching the audience, which is not the way Cinema is to be viewed or experienced.
Moreover when you are a reviewer you have to watch such movies too as every Rose always has few thorns associated with it making it more beautiful.

B. I think you should watch this weeks Hollywood release Everest it not a very good film but a fine and technically sound film.

Every week for me its SWADESHI first and VIDESHI later if the time and money allows me.
Yes, I have seen EVEREST and its just a good film but not an outstanding one as it doesn't deliver what the viewers are there to experience. On the contrary its a more realistic film focusing more on the loss than the win. (Would soon post a short review of the film at BTC)

C. I have a complaint and request to make, my complaint is that you don't review enough Hollywood films, You had reviewed very few Hollywood films. My request is that you should at least review those Hollywood films which are nominated for Academy Awards for best picture category.

Regarding new films reviews I have already answered that for me its SWADESHI first and VIDESHI later. And VIDESHI comes even later than the regional films released on that Friday.

Here to enlighten you further............ almost 4-5 years back, I too used to feel that Hollywood movies need to be mentioned at my site essentially  as they certainly are the worth watching ones. But as I focused more on the regional cinema of my own country made in its various parts, I was left speechless and stunned as it was not at all lesser in any aspect from the Western or World Cinema (except the CGI department)

In fact at many instances I found the regional cinema being made within the country much more important and worth watching than the Western movies. So from the last few years I watch and review the regional cinema more than the Hollywood movies as no body is writing about them and these movies are not actually reaching their target audience.

D. Your Directors I love list is missing a very prominent and deserving name and that name is Chrishtoper Nolan, His films are very close to be called as master piece, Yes I know that his films contain a lot of special effect but than also his films have some noble and unique things to offer. I want to request you that please write the movie review for Chrishtoper Nolan's Inception this film needs a write up by you.

Having a different opinion here, director Christopher Nolan doesn't work for me personally and he didn't touch me except in his debut film FOLLOWING, MEMENTO and INSOMNIA. Later I couldn't connect to any of his hugely famous works and hence the name is not there. Though I respect him a visionary & innovative film-maker a lot.

E. I think that now a days it seems that Bobby sir you are quite busy, thats why you are not replying to any comment.

I actually reply to each and every comment on my site, but normally do that towards the end of the week. Now if somehow a weekend gets missed then it goes to next weekend that makes it 12-15 days. But I will definitely try to answer earlier than that as you have mentioned.

Hope you got all your answers as desired.
