Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi (1979) & Send Me No Flowers (1964)

Amol Palekar's "Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi" was one of my favorite and most recommended comedy movies till I found that it was not an original work by its makers. The movie which revolves around a loving husband thinking about the future of his wife after his own death is entirely based on the 1964 Classic "Send Me No Flowers".

The English comedy featuring Rock Hudson & Doris Day is actually the Original Movie which came up with this innovative script. A few sequences like the one at the doctor's clinic is exactly the same in its Hindi version directed by Rajat Rakhsit. But still, worth mentioning is the superb acting by Amol Palekar and Ashok Shraf in “Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi” which makes the movie a not to be missed venture, though an inspired one.
