Shaukeen (1982) & Boys Night Out (1962)

In 1981, Basu Chatterjee came with an adult comedy called “Shaukeen”. The movie was not bold in visual terms but it surely had a concept which was indeed a novel and courageous attempt in Hindi Cinema at that particular point of time. Famous for the hilarious act by the three old men Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and A. K. Hungal, the movie is still remembered as one of the best comedies released in the 80s. The main merit of the movie is that even when it is based on a theme of “old men and sex”, yet it maintains a certain dignity in its characters and presentation.

Certainly among the best works of the director Basu Chatterjee, the movie is again an inspired one from an English comedy called “Boys Night Out” released in 1962. Here also we have four middle aged men hoping to have a good time with a girl in an apartment away from their homes and families.

well, your Sangam point is really well taken. It reminds me of a time when i was traveling in a taxi... Pearl Harbour movie had come out.
He told me.. arre, this movie is Sangam... with the situations changed.. though there is a war angle in both.

I thought about it, and realised ... Yes.. Peal Harbour is quite similar to Sangam in the basic plot..
the love triangle i mean.

regards..
keep watching, keep enjoying,, keep the love flowing
