Continuing the series of discovering the rare and unheard stanzas of memorable hits from the Golden Era of Hindi Cinema, here is one unrecorded antra written by Santosh Anand for the immortal song “Zindagi Ki Na Tootey Larhi, Pyar Kar Le Gharhi Do Gharhi” sung by Lata Mangeshkar & Nitin Mukesh in the music direction of Laxmikant Pyarelal for Manoj Kumar’s cult project KRANTI (1981).

Here would like to mention that Sh. Santosh Anand is one of those lesser-discussed or under-rated lyricists/poets of Hindi Cinema who certainly deserved a lot more respect and appreciation than received, for his deep thoughtful poetry expressed in so simple words. Personally his works mean a lot to me as they have been a part of my personal journey too and I truly love this insightful, life teaching message from the lyricist, when he says,

“Kavita Kya Hai?
Jo Aapne Zindagi Mein Bhoga Hai……..Uska Anuvad Kavita Hai!”

As a close associate of visionary actor-writer-director Manoj Kumar, Santosh Anand gave us many meaningful gems in his film career and here is one of his unheard antra of a great song from film KRANTI.

Further, here is my humble attempt to contribute another stanza in the song as per its love theme and also as a heartfelt tribute to the divine blessed team of Bharat (Manoj Kumar) and Santosh Anand.

Amazing information! Always loved Manoj kumar ji's movies whether it was Upkaar , Purab Aur Paschim , Shor , Roti Kapdaa Aur Makaan & the magnum "Kranti" . I think every movie was way ahead of its times & meaningful! Santosh Anand ji kay lyrics ka to kya he kehnaa !
