DIL JUUNGLEE - An unexpectedly 'no fun', repetitive and poorly conceived film in complete contrast to its fresh and entertaining trailer. [TTP (To The Point) Review by Bobby Sing]

Its trailer stressed upon the relationship between a young, beautiful English teacher and her smart male student. The fun element was quite prominent in the few entertaining sequences shared, and a nice, fresh, positive vibe was certainly felt before its re-scheduled release.

Unfortunately, nothing of that sort happens to be there in the film strangely titled DIL JUUNGLEE and the fresh sequences seen in the trailer hurriedly get over in the first 20 minutes itself in an unexpectedly clumsy manner. Plus yet again following the same clichéd storyline of a couple rediscovering their forgotten love in a reunion after years (reminding you of couple of Imtiaz Ali films), it turns out to be a quite poorly written and conceived, repetitive yawn (post a few opening entertaining moments) that never picks up till the stretched, routine climax putting up a ridiculously boring show.

Directed by debutant Aleya Sen, the writing remains extremely convenient and confusing in the first half, and completely predictable and unconvincing in the second with the story beginning after a gap of 7 years. Neither the music works in this supposedly love story (again having the in-trend version songs of the past hits), nor the cinematography, background score or dialogues give you anything significant to share.

Overall, DIL JUUNGLEE just has Taapsee Pannu, Saqib Saleem and a couple of supporting actor’s spirited effort as the only bearable feature to be honest. And thus can simply be seen for the charming faces if you must, but not for anything else wasting your precious two hours.
