Dhoondhte Reh Jaoge (2009) - Based on a borrowed plot.

It is an interesting plot on which “Dhoondhte Reh Jaoge” is based upon but sadly the movie has not got much entertaining stuff and moreover its plot also remains a borrowed one. The story revolves around a film-maker and an accountant who plan to earn money by collecting more funds than required and making a Flop movie out of the huge amount raised. Unexpectedly the movie made to generate losses becomes a Mega Hit which creates more problems for all.

The idea is copied from a 1968 released OSCAR Winner movie called “The Producers” directed by Mel Brooks.

The same idea was borrowed by Satish Kaushik to make his comedy T.V. Serial “Yeh Shaadi Nahin Ho Sakti” in the late nineties which featured Sudhir Pandey as Mr.Golcha. Here also the rich person “Mr. Golcha” tires to save his tax by making a
Flop movie which in turn becomes a HIT.

Now the interesting part is that after Satish Kaushik inspirational stint, Hollywood again remembers the 1968 classic and decides to remake it in 2005 with the same name “The Producers”. But now it is made as a musical and also features Uma Thurman in it.

Check out yourself at : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395251/

So this again proves that Bollywood has a sharper & keen eye on what was and what is being made in the West and it is always the first to explore the potential plots in movies being made all over the world. Here I would also like to mention that out of all above mentioned movies and serial, I liked the Satish Kaushik version the best and the most hilarious one. And many friends here may also remember that entertaining serial too.

Cheers!
