Many friends must be familiar with a great poetic book called “Madhushala” by the legendary Sh. Harivansh Rai Bachchan. But for the readers who haven’t read it or just heard about it, I would like to say that it is the most expressive and inspirational book with poetry on life, thoughts and living styles, all with reference to a person who loves his drinking. The beauty is, that never in the verses, you are provoked to drinking, but you feel as drunk after just reading the brilliantly written lines. You feel like you have tasted it in between the lines and that’s due to the power in the words used by the great poet.
The most astonishing part related to “Madhushala” is that the person who wrote so extensively on the topic, Sh. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, never tasted a drink in his whole life and still expressed the feelings of a person in trance in the best possible style. That is the reason I rate his pieces as one of the best I have read in Hindi Literature.
Here are some of his best from the book “Madhushala” for all my friends here :

Life will go on playing its game of hide & seek, as it has its own ways of granting you different pleasures of living. It will go on denying at first, but you will surely get everything you need, just wait patiently and don’t panic.
So many have been here in the past and tasted the wine of life. So many cups have been broken after consuming the sweet life in them. Uncountable people have gone after visitng this beautiful place. But life still remains the same, witnessing all come & go.

Not sure if you have truly understood the meaning of the poem. It\'s a deeply spiritual poem where references to wine/tavern are simply symbolic references for God/Existence and it\'s devotee.
