Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron (1983) - (Movies To See Before You Die - Comedy)

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron - Bobby Talks Cinema.com

One of the most famous and highly appreciated comedy from Bollywood which truly deserves all the praise it has received. The movie was made with all the new comers in the industry from National School of Drama, Delhi and Film Institute, Pune. And no one knew that a cult and trend setting movie was into the making.

Simply hilarious with brilliant one liners & superb performances by the entire star-cast. Especially the drunkard act of Om Puri with his Punjabi acsent and his small verbal fights with Pankaj Kapoor. The dead body sequence with Satish Shah, Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Vasvani and the “Thoda Khao Thoda Phenko” sequence is also quite funny. But the best part certainly is the climax sequence on the stage. The remix between the characters of Ramayan & Mahabharat is very well written and perfectly acted. Though there are some inspired plots too, incorporated intelligently in the movie. But still, director, Kundan Shah, is sure going to be remembered for this classic forever. Watch it as a must if you haven’t seen it yet.

The movie is released in Mumbai at PVR (8pm show). Few points :

1. \"Peene ka paani alag aur gutter ka paani alag\" dialogue was awesome by Satish Shah!

2. \"Thoda khao thoda phenko\" brought instant laughter in movie as well as here.

3. Some of the comedy scenes now seem unpalatable and over the board but at that time must have been a riot.

Overall, a must see even in re-release.
