This movie is based on the theme of cultural shock faced by persons, when they visit a country which is completely new and also with an unknown language of its own. The film beautifully captures the moments of loneliness and solitude felt by a person alone in an alien city. Bill Murray is perfect as an artist who comes to Japan for doing an advertisement of a wine company. He doesn’t know any body in the country and also does not understand the language. So he is all alone there until he meets Scarlett Johansson who has just arrived in the same hotel with her husband on a business tour.

Interestingly Scarlett also is in the same state as Bill Murray, since her husband is too busy with his own professional assignments. Both find a companion in each other and how they spend their few days in Japan is the main plot of the movie. A movie with wordless expressions filmed beautifully. The best part of the narration is that they both do not fall in love or start an affair as they get along. On the contrary, they simply enjoy each other’s company with respect and affection, which is a visual treat to watch. Some viewers may find it a little slow at times, but still it’s a movie not to be missed with the gorgeous Scarlett and her killing looks ready to take you on.
