Raaz - The Mystery Continues (2009) & its inspirations.

08 Apr, 2009 | Inspired Movies (Alphabetical) / R

“Raaz – the Mystery Continues” is a thriller cum horror movie coming from the house of Vishesh Films which has more of suspense and less of horror. And as per their tradition the movie again has a list of more than one inspirational source stated below :

1. The bathtub horror scenes and The Well in the end are inspired from “The Ring”(2000).
2. The hidden roof floor in the house, where a man is found, was there in “The Grudge” (2004).
3. The future prediction plot, the road accident with the wild bulls and many complete sequences are taken from various films including “The Final Destination” (2000), “The Ring” series, “Mirrors” (2008), “Heroes” (T.V. series) and may be more which I couldn’t spot.
4. Lastly, the main secret of the movie, revealed in the climax is inspired from Julia Roberts “Erin Brockovich” (2000), where she is also investigating about the water of an area getting contaminated due to the Energy & Gas plant running nearby. Sounds Familiar….

In the R list, may be you can think of adding Rishtey (Anil Kapoor, Krishma Kapoor). Pretty much a copy of 1975 Jon voight/Faye Dunaway movie called the Champ.

Both actors play the role of a wrestler/boxer trying to get their sons custody.
