A widely appreciated and an OSCAR winner movie about two brothers and their strange but lovable relationship. Dustin Hoffman as the autistic brother, having a command over mathematical calculations is simply superb and leaves an everlasting impression on the viewer. Tom Cruise as his real brother, trying to take advantage of Hoffman’s power to  calculate is also a treat to watch. They have a worth watching on-screen chemistry which makes you cheerful at times and even makes you feel emotionally sad in the last few minutes.

 Their scenes together and the Casino sequences, where both the brothers are on a winning spree are well written, well acted and intelligently conceived. The best part of the movie is regarding its name. In the climax when the hidden meaning of “Rainman” is revealed, it really reaches your heart straight away. A must see for students of acting and cinema as there is a lot to learn from Dustin Hoffman’s brilliant act in the movie. A true masterpiece performance from the veteran.
