SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING - This time we have a much better fun filled, campus film with a few exciting highlights. [TTP (To The Point) Review By Bobby Sing]

Unlike the last few films in the series, the present Spider-Man reboot at last brings backs the fond memories beginning with the famous cult track and then moving back to the campus introducing a Peter Parker who neither is any journalist nor has any mysterious persona of a superhero in the making. The narration takes it time to grow but then does manage to bring in the excitement through some fresh entertaining insertions without any cluster of sub-plots as a much better, funny and enjoyable film (compared to the earlier sequels).

With interesting sequences featuring Iron Man, Captain America and the evil Vulture, this is about a 15 years old Peter Parker (Tom Holland), who wishes to be a part of Iron Man’s corporation and keeps trying to be the superhero, at times failing at things being unaware of his own new gadgets/powers. Besides he is also a part of his school quiz team and is in love with a classmate too taking you into a young world of a high school instead of the usual repetitive settings.

Focusing more on its characters than the special effects sequences, the present film is a kind of a decently entertaining package with perfect casting (particularly of the youngsters) and two major highlight sequences including the one featuring the lift in Washington Memorial and the other in its climax putting up a great VFX show. At the same time, one does feel like watching miniatures on the screen presented as high rise buildings in some particular shots in between the other better ones.

In all, though not any exceptionally outstanding superhero film, the latest reboot is still much better than the last two by all means and hence deserves to be seen by the fans and lovers of this specific genre. However its quite possible that a section of fans might not appreciate the film too, since this time the Spiderman is not exactly the superhero seen, cheered and loved in the earlier movies and the favourite comic books.

Rating : 3 + 0.5 / 5 (with the additional 0.5 for bringing back the fun element into the franchise that was being missed a lot)
