Shutter (2004) (Thailand) - (Movies To See Before You Die - World Cinema/Horror)

12 Aug, 2008 | Movies To See Before You Die / World Cinema

It is said that in recent times the best horror films have been made in South East Asia and Japan. “The Ring” and many other English horror movies are also inspired from their Asian Originals. So, as “Shutter” was hugely famous and successful in Thailand in 2004, it was also officially remade in English in 2008. But the Thai version is more horrifying and enjoyable than its English remake.

The movie has some unusual sort of horror, since it does not have any dark sequences but stresses more on the fear factor and horror in the mind. The director brilliantly builds up the mystery leading to the horror element. And the brilliant part comes when you come to know about the suspense and when the actual spirit is reveled. The secret of why the lead character always a feel a burden over his shoulders is the most scary thing in the movie. A must watch for horror movie lovers and also for the lovers of Classy World Cinema.
Directed By Banjong Pisanthanakun & Parkpoom Wongpoom
