VEEREY KI WEDDING - Gives a real tough time in the theater as an unbearable, poor film. (Review By Bobby Sing)

Once again set in Delhi, revolving around two brothers of an affluent family and their proposed marriages, VEEREY KI WEDDING is a sheer torture that reveals the poor vision behind its writing, dialogues and direction within the initial five minutes itself without any holding back. So just after a few scenes, you very well know that it’s not going to be an easy task sitting through this awful, badly conceived film for the next two hours.

The execution takes you back to the forgetful era of 80s, when all meaningless action films were being made irresponsibly by the entire team (including the big names) without any script or storyline as such. Plus it's certainly one of those films that get simply made as they successfully manage to find someone to invest the money without having any prior experience of the field, influenced by the world of glamour. Simply accepting it as another unimportant but well-paying professional assignment, the film has Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Jimmy Shergill, Satish Kaushik, Yuvika Chaudhary and more, visibly sleep walking through their roles, completely unconcerned about their acts or the film’ final result at the box office.

Strangely sharing an exactly similar title with the upcoming Sonam-Kareena Kapoor film VEERE DI WEDDING (with only one word changed), this Ashu Trikha directed film is a such a loud pain that you will not be able to bear it till the end and would rush to move out of the theater in the intermission itself. In other words, this is probably the only film where you will find a superfine actor such as Jimmy Shergill too, hamming in a few scenes showing no involvement or interest in any of the onscreen proceedings.

Sharing another brutal truth, it is such poor projects like VEEREY KI WEDDING - that actually break the morale of many capable writers-directors, who are in constant search of financiers to back their interesting projects. No doubt, luck and destiny has a significant, decisive role to play in this unsure film business.

Rating : 0.5 / 5 (And that too just for the ‘backstage technical crew’ who have no idea of what’s being made and of what caliber.)
