Welcome (2007) & Mickey Blue Eyes (1999)

The star studded movie, directed by Aneez Bazmee borrows heavily from “Mickey Blue Eyes” (1999) featuring Hugh Grant. The Hindi version also has a Big Don with a fanatic son and there is a defaulter running on the tread mill in the Don's Den too. Even the profession of the hero is the same of an Art Auctioneer as in the English flick. The sequence in which Feroz Khan's son gets shot by the female lead accidently is straight away taken from "Mickey Blue Eyes”. Not surprisingly, the bullet also hits the steel chandelier on the roof in the similar manner and gets diverted towards the young gangster. And then the male lead wants to take the blame on himself to save his girl. All is there in "Mickey Blue Eyes" too.

Other than this, the basic theme of the movie is also quite similar to a Korean Film “Marrying the Mafia” (2002).
