BAAGHI 3 - If only you can accept any kind of 'border crossing' exaggeration in the name of action and entertainment. (Review by Bobby Sing)

Nobody goes to watch the third offering of an action thriller franchise like BAAGHI 3 featuring a shirt-less Tiger Shroff on its posters, expecting some kind of intelligent or great film. Leaving the brains at home – as it is said – all one wishes to see a fair entertainer with some explosive actions scenes and Tiger killing it on screen with his unbelievable kind of dare-devils.

However when a film (yet again) adapted from a 2012 Tamil film VETTAI, amazingly written by not two or three but five writers together, turns out to be this kind of illogical mess, considering the viewers as mere fools, then it surely raises fingers on the Hindi filmmaking in the present times without any doubt. Particularly, when the regional cinema, from which it constantly keeps taking the inspiration from, is making such exceptional quality cinema in much less budget and reach/market.

Changing the local gangsters opponents into Islamic Terrorist organization in Syria bringing in the repetitive Islamophobia, BAAGHI 3 begins with a typical yet decent commercial comical plot revolving around two brothers, but then suddenly becomes a severe assault on mind, questioning the simple logic or common sense of its poor audience.

As expected, Tiger Shroff remains the only attraction of the film performing some outstanding stunts, but it’s really a pity that he is not getting a director who can present him in a better film with at least some kind of engaging, well-written content along with the action. In BAAGHI 3, Ahmed Khan and his five writers literally take us for granted and follow the new ‘Kuchh Bhi’ kind of format as also seen in many of the recent mainstream Hindi movies. The supporting cast gets wasted including Ritesh Deshmukh (making a sincere effort), Shraddha Kapoor (annoying in a silly role) along with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. But then Disha Patani does try to give you something for your ticket bought dancing in minimum clothes in an usual forcibly inserted item song.

In short, entertainment based action thrillers do take huge cinematic liberties in order to woo their viewers as seen in the fairly acceptable first hour of BAAGHI 3. But the film bluntly questions your intelligence, instead of respecting it, post its initial hour and that too in a brutally crude manner defying all the logic. On a concluding note, it’s really sad Tiger Shroff and the entire technical team made such a huge effort in this kind of mediocre film.

However, if this too succeeds then in the next part, Ahmed Khan would probably go after a bigger country than Syria or may be out in the space with his undefeatable missile called Tiger Shroff.

Rating : 1+1 / 5 (including the additional 1 specifically for the tiresome efforts put in by the entire action team, unknowingly considering it as some kind of a milestone)
