One doesn’t have many well made investigative thrillers talking about any psycho serial killer in Hindi cinema as the Mumbai film-makers are now mostly interested in the usual safe weekend movies only, fetching them some sure returns. However when one looks up to the South film industry then they do offer a wide range of films made on lesser adapted, difficult subjects. And VETTAIYAADU VILAIYAADU is surely one of those fine films written & directed by Gautham Menon featuring Kamal Hassan, Prakash Raj and Jyothika in the lead roles and music by Harris Jayaraj. A 2006 Tamil hit, the film was later dubbed as RAGHAVAN in Telugu and THE SMART HUNT in Hindi to reach a wider audience but I doubt many of the Hindi film viewers might have even heard of the dubbed version at all.

Nice work This films major drawback was they didnt delve much into the killer's motive. He is such an important character in the movie. But carelessly dealt to attract specifically some audiences i dont want to mention here... Even though he is a criminal, he was shown like a fascinating person which is unjust.(i accept it is thrilling and chill till the end, but not honestly) Director want just to look like a hollywood movie, but forgot to delve deeply into that important character which is the crux of the story. Atlast i cant put the words how to appreciate your patience to watch tamil movies... Also i like to suggest two movies: try to review anyone for me... Both are awesome movies but the second one i dont know whether you will like it. 1.) Pudhupettai 2006 film (tamil) Certified : V/U; Cult Classic Director Selvaraghavan one of the most acclaimed director unforgotten in current generation of new cinema in tamil 2.) Ohm shanthi Oshana Malayalam 2014. Coming of age Rom-Com Rare heroine centric movie in the male dominated industry unlike bollywood. Both movies are on the talks of remaking it in bollywood in future... Thats why i put these two south movies which are alienated by their own audiences especially Pudhupettai which was panned heavily by critics just because danush acted in that movie.....
