Chashme Buddoor - Bobby Talks Cinema.com

Another fine comedy from the well known director Sai Pranjpe. Interestingly many film lovers know her name, as a synonym to “Chashme Buddoor”, since it is the most famous movie of her career. The story revolves around 3 students of Delhi University who share a rented room  and are more interested in roaming around aimlessly than study.

Incidentally all the three boys like a girl living in the neighborhood and try to impress her in their own way. Rakesh Bedi & Ravi Vasvani after failing in their attempts come up with some amusing imaginary stories, blaming it all on the girl. And as they find Farukh Sheikh winning over the girl, they try to create new misunderstanding in his mind about her.

An intense love theme treated in an enjoyable comic style gives a great repeat value to the movie. The unseen locations of Delhi are captured intelligently and they blend with the scenes amazingly. The University Campus ambience is right there in full spirits as seen on the North Campus streets in Delhi. The famous “Chamko - washing powder” sequence is a real treat to watch. In fact all the artists involved in the movie are still remembered fondly due to its powerful impact on the viewer. Surprisingly it also has two melodious songs based on Indian Classical Ragas. A must watch since it is rated as one of leading comedy movie of Bollywood.
